Analisis formal protokol SMAP fog/edge: secure mutual authentication protocol for fog/edge menggunakan AVISPA

Protokol SMAP Fog/ Edge merupakan protokol mutual autentikasi antara pengguna, authentication server, dan fog server yang didesain oleh Pardeshi dan Yuan pada tahun 2019. Protokol SMAP Fog/ Edge ditujukan untuk memberikan sistem autentikasi yang aman dalam fog computing. Berdasarkan klaim yang dituliskan oleh Pardeshi dan Yuan, protokol SMAP Fog/ Edge dinilai aman terhadap serangan pasif dan aktif. Salah satu serangan yang diklaim mampu ditahan oleh protokol SMAP Fog/ Edge adalah serangan man-in-the-middle attack. Pernyataan tersebut diklaim tanpa diberikan hasil analisis dengan menggunakan alat verifikasi.
Pada penelitian ini dilakukan verifikasi kebenaran klaim pada protokol SMAP Fog/ Edge dengan menggunakan back-end CL-AtSE dan OFMC pada AVISPA. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan dari hasil yang diberikan oleh back-end CL-AtSe ditemukan bahwa protokol SMAP Fog/ Edge rentan terhadap man-in-the-middle attack. Serangan berhasil dilakukan karena tidak terdapat skema autentikasi antara klien dengan authentication server, oleh karena itu pada penelitian ini diberikan skema perbaikan yang dibentuk dengan menambahkan tanda tangan dan identitas dalam protokol. Verifikasi juga dilakukan terhadap skema perbaikan dengan menggunakan back-end CL-AtSE pada AVISPA. Hasil verifikasi menyatakan tidak terdapat serangan yang mampu dijalankan pada skema perbaikan berdasarkan back-end CL-AtSE. --

The SMAP Fog/Edge protocol is a mutual authentication protocol between users, authentication servers, and fog servers designed by Pardeshi and Yuan in 2019. The SMAP Fog/Edge protocol is intended to provide a secure authentication system in fog computing. According to Pardeshi and Yuan, the Fog/Edge SMAP protocol is considered safe against passive and active attacks. One of the attacks that the Fog/Edge SMAP protocol claims can withstand is a man-in-the-middle attack. The statement is claimed without being given the results of the analysis using any verification tool.
Verification of SMAP Fog/Edge protocol was carried out using the CL-AtSE and OFMC back-ends on AVISPA. Based on the analysis, the results provided by CL-AtSe back-end was found that the SMAP Fog/Edge protocol is vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks. The attack was successful because there was no authentication scheme between the client and the authentication server, therefore in this research a vulnerability modification scheme was given. The modification scheme is formed by adding signature and idntity. Verification was also carried out on the scheme using the CL-AtSE back-end on AVISPA. The results is that there are no attack on modification scheme based on the CL-AtSE back-end.
