Implementasi Game-Based Learning Berbasis Android untuk Meningkatkan Security Awareness Dari Serangan Social Engineering dengan Menerapkan Octalysis Gamification Framework

Abstrak:
Pengguna internet di seluruh dunia terus meningkat, termasuk di Indonesia. Namun, peningkatan ini tidak diimbangi dengan peningkatan kesadaran keamanan di kalangan masyarakat Indonesia. Hal ini menyebabkan maraknya serangan terhadap keamanan informasi, seperti social engineering. Social engineering adalah tindakan memengaruhi dan memanipulasi orang untuk membocorkan informasi sensitif. Oleh karena itu, penting bagi setiap individu untuk memiliki pengetahuan mengenai serangan social engineering agar dapat terhindar dari serangan tersebut. Dalam meningkatkan security awareness pengguna, game-based learning dapat menjadi solusi yang efektif. Game-based learning adalah penggunaan elemen game dalam konteks non-game untuk melibatkan pengguna dalam suatu aktivitas. Dalam gamebased learning, pengguna akan berada pada ruang simulasi skenario sehingga pengguna merasa dilibatkan dalam pembelajaran yang disediakan. Octalysis frameworkdapat digunakan dalam pengembangan game-based learning untuk meningkatkan security awareness dari serangan social engineering. Octalysis framework adalah kerangka kerja untuk menganalisis dan merancang pengalaman gamifikasi. Dengan menerapkan delapan core drives dari Octalysis framework, peneliti dapat menciptakan pengalaman gamifikasi yang dapat memotivasi dan melibatkan pengguna dalam ruang simulasi skenario sehingga pengguna merasa dilibatkan dalam pembelajaran yang disediakan. Oleh karena itu, Octalysis framework membantu dalam merancang game-based learning yang efektif untuk meningkatkan security awareness dari serangan social engineering. Pengujian hipotesis terhadap rata-rata sampel kontrol dan sampel eksperimen memberikan hasil perbedaan yang signifikan. Artinya, game Cyber Crime:Around Us terbukti memiliki pengaruh terhadap peningkatan security awareness dari serangan social engineering
Abstract:
The global population of internet users, including Indonesia, continues to grow. However, this growth is not proportionately matched by an increase in security awareness among the Indonesian population. Consequently, there has been a rise in information security breaches, such as social engineering attacks. Social
engineering involves influencing and manipulating individuals to divulge sensitive information. Therefore, it is crucial for every individual to possess knowledge about
social engineering attacks to mitigate their impact. In the pursuit of enhancing user security awareness, game-based learning emerges as an effective solution. Game based learning employs gaming elements in a non-game context to engage users in activities. Within this approach, users find themselves within a simulated scenario space, thus fostering a sense of involvement in the provided learning process. The Octalysis framework proves instrumental in the development of game-based learning to elevate security awareness against social engineering attacks. Octalysis framework serves as an analytical and design tool for gamification experiences. By incorporating the eight core drives of the Octalysis framework, researchers can devise gamified experiences that motivate and engage users within simulated scenarios, thereby fostering a sense of involvement in the learning process. As such, the Octalysis framework aids in designing effective game-based learning interventions to enhance security awareness against social engineering attacks. Hypothesis testing conducted on the average scores of the control and experimental samples yielded statistically sinificant differences. This implies that the game "Cyber Crime: Around Us" has been shown to exert an influence on enhancing security awareness against social engineering attacks.
